Akhirnya SmadAV revisi terbaru, SmadAV 8.2 dirilis juga oleh tim SmadAV. Berikut ini adalah beberapa penyempurnaan Smadav 2010 Rev. 8.2 :

- Penambahan database 80 virus baru
- Penambahan teknik heuristik untuk varian virus penginfeksi exe
- Perbaikan Inter Process Communication SmaRTP-0
- Perbaikan false alarm pada Flashdisk U3
- Perubahan metode update

Perubahan Metode Distribusi dan Update

Pada edisi-edisi awalnya, SmadAV dirilis sebagai aplikasi yang portabel dan ringkas, cukup satu file executable. Mulai beberapa edisi revisi terbaru kali ini, SmadAV dirilis dengan metode distribusi yang berbeda, tak sepenuhnya portable.

SmadAV didistribusikan dalam satu file packager/installer yang akan mengekstrak beberapa file, satu file executable utama, dua file library/engine, satu file database external dan satu file README.

No Autorun adalah sebuah freeware dengan lisensi GPL yang menghapus dan memblokir penyebaran virus di USB Flashdisk serta mencegah berjalannya autorun dari media disk tersebut.

When a USB disk is inserted, this tool not only locks the autorun.inf file, but also locks all the autorun-related virus. Most software of the same kind just delete autorun.inf and leave the virus file.

Berbarengan dengan terbitnya Majalah PCMedia edisi Juli 2010, maka PCMAV 3.0.3 diluncurkan. Dan untuk kali ini PCMAV juga sudah mampu memproteksi dari 3.292 virus.

YANG BARU KALI INI

UPDATED! Ditambahkan database pengenal dan pembersih 46 virus lokal/asing/varian baru yang dilaporkan menyebar di Indonesia. Total 3292 virus beserta variannya yang banyak beredar di Indonesia telah dikenal di versi 3.0.3 ini oleh core engine PCMAV.
UPDATED! Removal engine khusus untuk membersihkan secara tuntas varian virus YM-Infocard, Sarap, Allya.vbs, Titian, Felisha, dan Hasmi yang menyebar luas di Indonesia.
IMPROVED! Folder “quarantine” hanya dibuat jika terdapat file yang dikarantina, dan otomatis dihapus jika tidak terdapat file didalamnya.
